Kumquat married with tea to generate added value
A woman of post-1985 generation makes kumquat tea by combining kumquat, a fruit which looks like a mini orange, with tea to generate added value of both products in Ziyang county, Ankang city, Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
The market for kumquat is down and half a kilo of kumquat fetched only 3 yuan ($0.46) this year in Ziyang county, dubbed as hometown of kumquat in China.
To revive the market, Tang Li got the idea of making kumquat tea, which not only tastes good but also is very healthy.
As the first one to make kumquat tea in Ziyang, Tang made a video clip of kumquat tea's production process and shared it online.
When her friends told her not to upload the clip as other people would copy her, Tang said the small kumquat tea industry would only grow big when others joined in.
