An exhibition of relics from the warship "Dandong No 1", also known as the Zhiyuan, opened to the public at Liaoning Provincial Museum in Northeast China’s Shenyang, on April 3.

The warship was sunk during the First Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895).

From 2014 to 2016, more than 180 artifacts from the wreck were found and were chosen as one of 10 new archaeological finds from 2015.

The exhibition includes five sections including information about the history of the Zhiyuan, belongings of the deceased sailors, and underwater studies of the warship.

The display of artifacts from the ship and the stories they tell help us pay tribute to the ship’s crew, and their bravery is something we can be proud of as a country, said Ma Baojie, director of Liaoning Provincial Museum.
