Student wins 618 parcels worth 100,000 yuan
How does it feel like to receive 618 delivery parcels at one go? A sophomore university student in Nanjing should know as she won hundreds of gifts on the online shopping site Tmall.com of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group during the "618" shopping festival that fell on Monday, or June 18.
The student who only gave her surname Peng was the winner of a lucky draw earlier this month launched by Tmall to promote the sale.
She received 618 delivery parcels of food, clothing, and daily necessities on Monday, the D-Day of the shopping festival. The gifts were worth more than 100,000 yuan ($15,437).
Gifts include facial essence, a new Vivo cellphone, 618 mantis shrimps, 618 crayfishes, 540 rolls of toilet paper, 400 packs of facial tissues, 480 bottles of coca-cola, 180 packs of sanitary towels... and even 618 yuan worth of condoms. The list can not be complete here.
Peng said that apart from a small number of items that she'll keep for personal use, most of them will be sold for charity.
