The US government triggered a trade dispute by announcing a 25 percent tariff on Chinese goods worth $50 billion on June 15, and the Chinese government was forced to respond.
Peak Pegasus, a vessel carrying soybeans set sail from Seattle to Dalian port, Liaoning province on June 8, got caught up in the trade dispute after it failed to reach Dalian before 12 pm on July 6.
Peak Pegasus is only a representative of millions of vessels being affected by the trade dispute launched by the US, as US initiated the biggest trade war in economic history with China by proposing an additional 10 percent tariff on $200 billion of Chinese goods on July 11, affecting a total of $250 billion Chinese goods plus the previous $50 billion.
