Oppo unveils latest high-performance gaming phone
Chinese smartphone vendor Oppo unveiled its latest 5G smartphone tailor-made for gaming lovers on Monday night, as it strives to tap into people's growing enthusiasm for mobile games amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
The latest phone falls under Ace, an independent smartphone brand of Oppo focusing on high-performance gaming phones.
Oppo Ace 2, the new phone, is powered by the US tech giant Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. It comes with a 6.55-inch 1080 pixel OLED screen with a 90 hertz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Priced from 3,999 yuan ($567) in China, Ace 2 is the latest push by Oppo to double down on the gaming niche. It is also the company's first phone with wireless charging.
Shen Yiren, global marketing president of Oppo, said the Ace series smartphones are designed for gaming enthusiasts. "We want to partner with gaming lovers to explore and deliver the most interesting functions."
