Grace Chen fashion show debuts online
On Tuesday, the Grace Chen couture brand moved the runway debut of its lastest collection online as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on.
The collection, Amazing Grace, aims to show the creativity, vigor and positive attitude of the brand's designer group during the outbreak.
"The pandemic has brought uncertainty to society, the fashion industry and each individual practitioner," said Grace Chen, the brand's founder and one of China's most influential designers. "In the mean time, social distancing has enabled people to pay more attention to the essence of life, which is in accordance with the original aspiration of why we founded the brand."
Chen adds that the brand aims to make high-quality garments that bear timeless elegance and well-accepted beauty to unleash the unique glamour of each customer.
The fashion show, set in a forest, was livestreamed on China's major video-sharing platform, Bilibili, and open to not only people in the fashion industry, but also to a large group of non-professionals who care about beauty and their inner selves.
Natural fiber and silk are widely used in the new haute couture collection. The main colors of black and white, together with soft tones of pink, yellow and blue, have created a joyful, friendly, sincere and mild look. Each piece can be suitable for multiple occasions.
Several frequent Grace Chen customers were invited to try on the new dresses and share their feelings.
Chen, who has been hailed as the designer who understands women best, said she believes in the power of beauty and wants to spread happiness and ideas about beauty and fashion to more audiences via livestreams.
