The sky bridge of Raffles City Chongqing — dubbed "The Crystal" — was officially opened to public on Saturday. The highly anticipated project features one of the world's highest sky bridges and the greatest number of towers.
It is also the first so-called horizontal skyscraper in China, drawing a lot of attention from home and abroad for the difficulty of construction and engineering. It represents a milestone in Chinese architectural history, with its use of an advanced synchronous hydraulic lifting technology to hoist it into place and attach it to four 250-meter-tall towers.
