Smartphone brand iQOO unveiled its latest flagship handsets in China, equipped with fast wired charging solutions, as it picks up the pace to gain a bigger presence in the expanding 5G smartphone market.

The latest handset, iQOO 5 Pro, comes with 120W fast wired charging, which the company said can fully charge its 4,000 mAh battery in 15 minutes. It is the latest move by iQOO to target mobile gaming enthusiasts.

iQOO is an independent brand set up by smartphone company Vivo to target young users. The brand said it has come up with a liquid cooling system that helps regulate the phone's temperature while fast charging, and its battery cells are lined up in a specific array to ensure safety.

Sensors and algorithms also monitor the battery cell's temperature control to prevent any damage.

Competition in flash charging has intensified, because the more time people spend on their smartphones, the faster their handsets run out of power.

To combat this, manufacturers are working on fast-charging technology to shorten charging times while ensuring safety.

The new smartphone iQOO 5 Pro also gets a triple-camera setup at the back. There is a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 13 megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an 8 megapixel periscope lens. Its front camera is rated at 16 megapixels.

Vivo has been rapidly expanding its 5G smartphone portfolio, as China has seen booming shipments of 5G handsets.
