Qualcomm to show 5G, other high tech at CIIE
US technology and chip giant Qualcomm expects to showcase its applications and practices in frontier technologies at the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, and to announce its latest cooperation with its Chinese partners in various fields, Huanqiu.com reported on Thursday.
The COVID-19 pandemic that swept the world this year has made people more aware of the importance of connectivity technology, with 5G technology a core component in building a digital world. According to Meng Pu, chairman of Qualcomm China, 5G technology has played a key role in epidemic prevention and control in China, and has enhanced the resilience of the Chinese economy as it is witnessing a strong recovery.
Qualcomm has maintained a close partnership with its Chinese partners since it started business in China two decades ago, the chairman said, adding that the company's 5G tech cooperation with partners in China has expanded to industries such as smartphones, integrated circuits, the internet of things, software and automobiles.
This year marks the third year in a row for Qualcomm to attend the CIIE since its first edition, showing the company's commitments in investing in China, the chairman said. Qualcomm also looks forward to in-depth exchanges with the industry on this open platform of CIIE, and to explore innovative cooperation with partners in a more open and inclusive business environment in China in this new era of "dual circulation", he added.
The US tech giant will showcase a dozen 5G flagship commercial terminals based on the company's Snapdragon 865/865 Plus mobile platform at the third CIIE. Other frontier technologies of the company, including AI, extended reality and intelligent internet of things will also be displayed at the expo, which will run from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.
