Xinying Wang, 21, is a native of Danzhai county, Southwest China's Guizhou province. She started learning batik since 6 years old. At 19, she was appointed as the lineage holder of the Miao ethnic batik technique in Danzhai county.
Miao batik is a handicraft passed down from generation to generation among Miao people. The finished products are simple but elegant in color and beautiful in pattern, with strong ethnic characteristics. It has been listed in the first batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
In 2017, with the advancement of poverty alleviation, Wanda Town in Danzhai invited a large number of lineage holders to start their businesses, offering subsidies and free rent.
