Nobel economist: Countries should solve domestic problems first

Countries need to put their own domestic house in order and not blame outsiders for what's happening, said Angus Deaton, recipient of the 2015 Nobel Prize for Economics, during his recent video conversation with Wang Huiyao, president of the Center for China and Globalization.
According to Deaton, governments should look after people who have been left behind instead of blaming outsiders, such as China, automation or artificial intelligence. The United States needs to fix such domestic problems to really participate well.
Wang said that all countries, including the US, should take care of seniors and do domestic public work, particularly at a time when domestic politics and international politics have created troubles in recent years.?
