Business startup base aims to help young entrepreneurs
A new business startup base for young people from Guangdong province and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao kicked off in the Nansha district of Guangzhou on Thursday.
The so-called Creation Enjoyment Bay Timetable youth entrepreneurial base brings the total of such bases in Nansha to eight. The seven earlier bases had attracted 240 projects from young people in Hong Kong and Macao, said Dong Ke, head of the Nansha district government.
To support Hong Kong and Macao youths in employment, various sectors of Nansha have offered 1,800 internships in the past five years, with 11 Hong Kong and Macao youths securing jobs in the district.
Twenty-two apartments for Hong Kong and Macao youths were made available in Nansha on Thursday, with more to come online.
In a program to provide housing for Hong Kong and Macao youths, four youths from the SARs bought ownership shares of housing units in the district.
