Mongolia says it firmly supports the one-China principle
Mongolia firmly supports the one-China principle and opposes external forces to meddle in China's internal affairs, Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene said on Sunday during talks with visiting State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Ulaanbaatar.
Oyun-Erdene stressed that Mongolia firmly believed countries' independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity should be respected and the development paths they have independently chosen.
Calling China a responsible major power which represents the future of Asia, he said China's development conforms to the common interests of Asian countries.
Mongolia would firmly support China's further development and hope to achieve common development and prosperity with China, he added.
Wang expressed appreciation to Mongolia for adhering to the one-China principle and supporting China in safeguarding core interests, adding China supports Mongolia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Beijing also supports Ulaanbaatar in choosing a development path in line with its people's willingness, pursuing steady governance and focusing on development, he added.
Wang vowed China would put its friendship and cooperation with Mongolia at an important position in its neighborhood diplomacy.
China stands ready to deepen synergies between the Belt and Road Initiative and Mongolia's the Steppe Road plan, between the Global Development Initiative and Mongolia's New Revival policy, between China's two-step strategic plan and Mongolia's Long-Term Development Policy Vision 2050 to inject strong impetus into bilateral cooperation, Wang said.
As economies between China and Mongolia are highly complementary, Wang noted China is willing to help Mongolia to transform resource endowment to development advantages and concrete development results.
The two sides agreed to maintain high-level interactions and party-to-party exchanges.
The two sides would promote the construction of the ports and channels, increase efficiency of clearance, build major demonstration projects in infrastructure and energy, as well as strengthen local cooperation and youth exchanges.
