Beijing International Dance Video Festival screens Nepali film
Nepali film The Secrets of Radha was screened on Friday as part of this year's Beijing International Dance Video Festival that ran from Aug 13 to 28.
The Secrets of Radha is a new film that tells the story of a pregnant woman in search of her missing husband, and presents important female issues and the work-related injuries suffered by migrant workers in Nepal.
"Although dance in a conventional sense is only a small section of this film, I was immensely touched by the lead actress' performance, which seemed to me like dancing in general. I felt that she must have taken dance training, because she is very expressive in her movements," said Willy Tsao, president of the festival committee.
Included as a part of the 12th Beijing International Film Festival, the dance video festival is themed on "more love", screening 94 films from home and abroad in its nine sections.
Shruti Kadariya, representative from Nepali embassy in Beijing, said that the film festival and the dance video festival are good platforms for Nepali filmmakers, and art and culture are an important medium to boost exchange between Nepal and China.
