Couples join together on Xiong'an project
The couples come from all over the country to work on the project. Photographers Chen Fapeng, Cheng Zejun, Liang Keyi, Xing Shuangqiao, Zheng Xinjiang, Lu Shoulong and Ren Zhiwei, all from Xiongxian, hope to record their ever-changing hometown, the thousands of ordinary workers and the rising city of the future.
On April 1, 2017, the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, China's Cabinet, announced the establishment of Xiong'an New Area in the counties of Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin, and some surrounding areas. It was a major historic strategic decision made by the top leadership, and it signaled another new area of national significance after the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and Shanghai Pudong New Area. Recently, Xiong'an New Area has entered an important stage of large-scale development and construction and is undertaking the simultaneous promotion of noncapital functions in Beijing.
