Huichang county in Ganzhou city, Jiangxi province is known for picturesque scenery, Hakka culture and its rich history as a revolutionary base.
Among its tourist attractions is Yangjiao Water Castle, which was originally built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) as a military base.
Today, tourists are drawn to the well-preserved ancestral temples, ancient tablet inscriptions, and archways of chastity and filial piety. They can take a stroll on the old city wall, enjoy the view of the riverbank and rub shoulders with the hospitable villagers.
