Giving art student appeal
A series of art activities appealing to young students will be held in Beijing, with a goal of implementing aesthetic education.
On Friday, the organizers — the International Education Exchange Committee of China Wisdom Engineering Association and the China Nationality Culture Foundation — announced that the event opens to the public to recruit teachers, scholars and performing artists of various art genres, such as music, dance, and theater, to offer young students with art programs.
"China has been making great efforts to promote aesthetic education among students of each grade. We want to recruit qualified teachers to offer more art programs to students," says Guo Zhenyou, the former deputy director of Chinese Society of Education.
"Different art genres, such as music, dance and theater, are relatively approachable for students and more likely to nurture and inspire them," Guo adds.
Besides bringing art training programs, the organizers also call for art teaching materials compiled by professional art educators, scholars and artists, making art comprehensible for young students.
