Perfumers find a fragrant route to success
"The Chinese market is perhaps my favorite, likely the most successful for perfume products globally. There's a large consumer base in China with a strong interest in perfumes, constantly seeking to learn and understand more about them," said Malle.
According to the data conducted by the consulting agency iiMedia Research, the perfume market in China reached 16.9 billion yuan ($2.4 billion) in 2022 and is expected to hit 30 billion yuan in 2025, about three times the growth rate of the global market.
"Our success in China with 'Rose Tonnerre' didn't involve significant marketing, but the fragrance was appreciated, and industry professionals recognized it. As a brand emphasizing individual resonance over sales volume, we can succeed in this evolving market," Malle pointed out.
