Economist: Developing new quality productive forces should be realistic

In a recent interview with ChinaPerspectives, Justin Yifu Lin, dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University, pointed out that there are two different types or two different sources of new quality productive forces. "You need to compare with yourself instead of comparing with the frontier. If you do something too ambitious, the technology may be new, but the quality may not be high," he said.
