"The 10-year lease comes with zero rent, subsidized renovations and only a 5 percent revenue-sharing fee collected by the rural revitalization company," Ye said. "The model was appealing, so I decided to bring authentic Taiwan cuisine to Huangyangjian village."

Since then, he has witnessed remarkable growth. "The success has far exceeded my expectations," he said. "Last year alone, our revenue surpassed 600,000 yuan."

Beyond the numbers, Ye also values the deeper purpose of his work: using Taiwan cuisine as a bridge to foster cross-strait cultural exchanges.

"My greatest hope in coming to Zhoushan is to use Taiwan food as a bridge for enhancing grassroots communication between the two sides," he said.
