Zhang Xuefeng, 54, creates paper-cut artworks at home in Tangqi village, Heshui county, Qingyang, Gansu province, and displays her series themed on ancient Yellow River elephants. It was inspired from the excavation of animal fossils in Heshui county in 1973. She learned the art form in childhood from her grandmother, and has been a national-level inheritor of Qingyang paper-cutting, an intangible cultural heritage. Her "hundred elephants" series was created in 2022 and is popular among the public.
