China Ping An Insurance Group Co on Friday signed a deal with China Football Super League for exclusive naming rights until 2017. The agreement makes Ping An the first financial enterprise to sponsor the CSL.
According to Sun Jianyi, vice-chairman of Ping An, the tie-up with CSL will enable the company to better provide financial services to sportsmen and fans. Meanwhile, the company said it is hoping to design more innovative Internet financial products.
It is only the latest entry by Ping An into the sporting world. From 1997 to 2013, the company undertook various projects, from acquiring a local soccer team to partnering on a large-scale event to supporting a sports-related charity.
