A committee affiliated to Hong Kong Professionals' (Beijing) Association was established on Friday to help Hong Kong entrepreneurs start a business on the mainland.

Leung Chunying, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said at the launch ceremony that Hong Kong government pays much attention to Hong Kong people's entrepreneurship outside Hong Kong, including their development on the mainland, and believes Hong Kong youths are competitive in the aspect of innovation.

He expects the committee could give more support to Hong Kong people working on the mainland in the fields of policy, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Founded in 2011, the association provides guidance for Hong Kong people living on the mainland such as work, study, medical services and children' education, and help them to integrate into the mainland society better. It now has more than 500 members.

Eric Fung, president of the association, who has been working in Beijing for more than 10 years, said "the percentage of Hong Kong people starting a business is increasing in recent years, and we establish the committee to respond to the initiativeof 'mass entrepreneurship and innovation' by central government and the SAR government's encouraging youth to make innovation."

The committee will promote the entrepreneurship of Hong Kong people in Beijing and enhance the exchanges between mainland and Hong Kong, Fung added.
