He Saifei has been named a jury member of the 2017 Asia Pacific Screen Awards, the mayor of Brisbane, Graham Quirk, announced in Beijing on Sept 14. Along with the Chinese actress, Filipino director Adolfo Alix Jr. and Kazakh director Adilkhan Yerzhanov are the first three confirmed international jury members for the awards that are annually held in the Australian city.

He shot to fame after acting in films by celebrated directors such as Zhang Yimou's Raise the Red Lantern (1991) and Chen Kaige's Temptress Moon (1996).

This year, the awards will be announced at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Nov 23.
