Global direct seller opens flagship store in HK

US-based Amway Corporation, one of the world's largest direct sellers, opened on Saturday its Hong Kong flagship store in Causeway Bay, a major shopping district in Hong Kong. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Amway's Hong Kong General Manager Angela Keung said the new store was a clear vote of confidence and commitment to Hong Kong. Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong Simon Galpin said Amway's expanded presence confirmed Hong Kong's position as a regional shopping hub. Hong Kong has become Amway's second overseas market outside North America since it set up operations in Hong Kong in 1974. Amway Corporation was founded in 1959 in Michigan, the United States. It operates in 80 countries and areas, marketing health and fitness, skin care and cosmetics, personal care, home tech and home care products through 3.3 million independent distributors.
