The weeklong event, which began on Monday, has attracted more than 40 British brands from the food and beverage sector to demonstrate to businesses and consumers the quality, heritage and creativity of British cuisine and kitchen culture.

Daniel Wong, the business development director for Asia with the AGA Rangemaster Group, said that the company hoped to become No 1 cooker provider to the Chinese people within three to five years.

Wong said that his confidence stems from the fact that there is an increasing demand from the Chinese for fashionable and user-friendly cookers as more Chinese gain international exposure.

The cookers have been adapted for a Chinese kitchen, and both of them can roast, bake, simmer and warm most foods with precise time and temperature control.

To date, the cookers are available in 25 domestic appliance stores across China, despite the company having launched the two cooker products — AGATC and Redfrye — in Beijing only in March, Wong said.
