Jiayuguan city, Gansu province, held the 21st China TV Documentary Awards Ceremony on Oct 16. Four documentaries by Gansu TV received awards, including The Red Landmark by Lanzhou TV, Hexi Corridor·Heishan Mountain by Jiayuguan TV and Hexi Corridor by Gansu Provincial Publicity Department and Beijing Bojing Culture& Media.

Hexi Corridor, which is one of the top ten Chinese televised documentaries, depicts the corridor's history and its economic, political and geographical roles in Northwest China over 10 episodes.

The Hexi or Gansu Corridor refers to the historical route in Gansu province. As part of the Northern Silk Road, it was the most important route from North China to the Tarim Basin and Central Asia for traders and the military since the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24).

The awards ceremony was supported by the China Television Artists Association. There were 28 sets of awards covering five categories, including short film, long film and documentary.
