Work on the first high-speed railway station for the city of Nanyang, Henan province is scheduled to start, on April 1, to produce a "1-hour" economic link with the provincial capital, Zhengzhou, when it open on Oct 31, 2019, according to the local railway department.
The Nanyang station is part of an 818 km-long Zhengzhou-Wanzhou line that connects Zhengzhou with the mega-city of Chongqing via Hubei province. The Zhengzhou-Wanzhou line has 350km in Henan province, passing through the cities of Zhengzhou, Xuchang and Pingdingshan.
The railway has a scheduled speed of 350km/hr and is expected to improve Nanyang's cooperation with neighboring cities and to accelerate its economic development.
