The lineup of the Yunnan sports delegation to the 12th National Games was released recently. A total of 162 athletes from Yunnan from different ethnic groups will compete in 19 sports and about 100 disciplines in Liaoning, a northeast province in China, from August 31 to Sept 12.

The National Games features 31 sports and 350 disciplines. So far, all preliminary competitions have been finished, and finalists have been fixed accordingly. The Yunnan delegation consists of 265 people, including 162 athletes, 97 men and 65 women. They include members of the Han, Yi, Bai, Dai, Hani, Lisu and eight other ethnic groups.

In competitions that finished in May, athletes from Yunnan won three silver medals in the men's 20k walk, men's 50k walk and women's marathon. They will strive to make breakthroughs in swimming, gymnastics, wrestling, weightlifting and other sports in the next few weeks.

At present, each sports team has arrived at the designated venues. They are making final preparations. They hope to join the competition in top shape and achieve excellence.
