Chinese athletes Liu Yingzi and Wei Ning will both have chances to shoot down gold medals during Beijing's Olympic Games in August.
Liu Yingzi claimed the first place in the women's trap in the National Olympic Skeet Selection on Monday, while Wei Ning booked her ticket in the skeet event.
Liu ranked first in the preliminaries, and then staged a stable performance to claim victory in the final. With the highest total score, the 27-year-old Liu beat veteran Chen Li to secure an Olympic ticket for the first time in her career.
The women's skeet final turned into a contest between Wei Ning and Olympic Champion Zhang Shan.
Although Zhang Shan finished first, she failed to earn the Olympic berth with the lower-ranking score. So the trip to the Olympics went to Wei Ning, who claimed the silver in the same event in Athens 4 years ago.
