Although the media and micro blogs continue to carry stories on the horrendous condition of the families who lost their loved ones in the recent high-speed train crash in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, almost nothing has been heard about the staff members on the two trains involved in the accident.

Were any of the crews injured? If yes, how are they now? Were the trains' staff members trained to deal with emergencies such as sudden stops for unexplained reasons or unruly passengers as we often find on aircraft?

Did they undergo courses in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation or crowd control? And did they undergo training similar to those expected of airline crew?

These are some of the questions of public concern and related to the safety of public transportation.
