Clothes make a statement

(China Daily) Updated: 2012-07-03 08:00

Comment on "Women protest against subway's dress code" (China Daily website, June 25)

I am surprised at the way some young Chinese women dress as it has changed radically since I first came to China six years ago.

Most women wear very attractive outfits now, but some of the outfits they wear are not very suitable for work.

Maybe they are more suitable for lounging on the beach or going to a club.

But however women dress, it does not give men the right or excuse to harass women. Unfortunately, when you wear certain outfits, you cannot choose who they will attract.

If you dress professionally, people will treat you like a professional. What you wear makes a statement.
