INNSBRUCK, Austria - The president of International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge warned Sunday that the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) should not be made too costly and complicated.

Compared with the traditional Olympic Games, which often costs huge amounts of money on stadium construction, the Youth Games is a money-saving task.

"The Youth Games should be staged in city where we don't need new construction and we have to rely on the existing construction, " said Rogge in a press conference before the closing ceremony of the inaugural Winter YOG.

The Winter YOG was held during the past ten days in the Austrian ski resort, host of the 1964 and 1976 Olympic Winter Games with no new stadiums especially built for the youth sports gala. The Innsbruck Organizing Committee made full use of the existing stadiums, which Rogge was satisfied with.

"The principle is that we don't want big capacity of stadium, we don't want a stadium of 80 thousand of people (for YOG), but here most of the stadiums are in a capacity of 2000 people. Small stadium will have a better atmosphere," Rogge said.
