Michael Schumacher, on the shoulders of team manager Flavio Briatore (r) and race director Tom Walkinshaw, is the first German world champion in 45 years of Formula 1 on NOvember 13th 1994 in Australia's Adelaide. A spectacular collision with British rival Damon Hill (Williams-Renault) ended a haunting duel in the 36th round at the Australian Grand Prix in favour of the German. Both drivers had to end the race and thus made the 25-year-old Schumacher champion with a lead of one point (92) after a long season of many tragedies and scandals. [Photo/icpress.cn] |
