Malaysian PM vows to brief MH370 familiesBEIJING - Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said here on Friday that the Malaysian side will give an account of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 to passengers' families as soon as possible.

Najib made the remarks in a meeting with top Chinese legislator Zhang Dejiang at the Great Hall of the People on Friday afternoon, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry.

He also expressed deep condolence for the families.

Zhang said China will continue to participate in the relevant work, and expressed hope that the Malaysian side will make more efforts and properly handle in the incident at an early date.

On Thursday, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang urged Malaysia to formulate a new plan for the search for the plane, to respond to the legitimate appeals of passengers' families and to properly settle such issues.

Najib said Malaysia will continue to conduct the search together with China, Australia and other countries, and stressed his commitment to finding solutions and answers to what really happened.

Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislative body, also called for more exchanges and cooperation between the NPC and Malaysia's parliament.

Hailing the development of China-Malaysia ties since their establishment 40 years ago, Zhang said the two countries should continue their friendly exchanges, rule out interferences, jointly push forward regional cooperation and play a bigger role in maintaining stability and development in the region.
