The agreement was signed on the first day of the 2nd World Internet Conference that takes place on Dec 16-18, in Wuzhen, eastern Zhejiang province. The first?conference was held in Wuzhen last year.

Lu Wei, director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, said the agreement will strengthen the cooperation in several ways. Second is to analyze Zhejiang's experiences in Internet economy development and cybersecurity and then apply the best practice in other regions in China and to the world.

"We should use Zhejiang's environment to cultivate more companies such as Alibaba, and we should also promote the achievements that the small and medium-sized companies have made through Internet," he says.

Information industry, which centers on the Internet economy, is one of the seven industries that Zhejiang will develop into a trillion size, to help realize the region's industrial transformation.
