Leaders reaffirm friendship
Editor's note: President Xi Jinping continued his busy schedule on Friday as he held a number of bilateral talks with world leaders attending the 29th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.
President Xi Jinping:
? China and Brunei are close neighbors facing each other across the sea, friends who can rely on each other and partners for common development. The two sides have set an example for harmonious coexistence and winwin cooperation between countries of different sizes.
? The two sides, which will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership next year, should make joint efforts to build up this relationship and better benefit the two peoples.
? Both nations should maintain communication and exchanges, further align development strategies, move forward with key projects under the Belt and Road Initiative and deepen cooperation in sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, fishery and energy.
? China and Brunei should foster growth engines in cooperation over green development and the digital economy and enable people-to-people exchanges in an orderly manner.
? The communication and coordination between the two sides within frameworks such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and APEC should be bolstered.
? China stands ready to work with Brunei and other ASEAN countries in pushing forward maritime cooperation and the consultations on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea.

? Congratulations to Xi on the reelection as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Brunei believes China will definitely maintain its prosperity and development and attain its strategic targets.
