The Mid-Autumn Festival, traditionally a time for family reunions and mooncake feasts, saw an unprecedented surge in parcel deliveries across China this year. The country's parcel delivery network handled more than 2.7 billion parcels during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which concluded on Tuesday, according to the State Post Bureau of China on Wednesday.

The figures reveal a significant uptick in both collection and delivery volumes. This year, courier companies collected approximately 1.31 billion packages, marking a 35.4 percent increase in daily collections compared to last year's Mid-Autumn Festival. Meanwhile, deliveries surged to around 1.407 billion packages, reflecting a remarkable 45.7 percent year-on-year growth.

As the Mid-Autumn Festival concluded, the efficiency and adaptability of China's postal and courier industry have once again demonstrated their crucial role in supporting both festive cheer and everyday needs.
