China's top internet regulator announced a special campaign on Friday to address the irregular use of language and text online.

This campaign, organized jointly by the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Education, aims to create a favorable online environment for the healthy growth of minors, according to a news release from the office.

The campaign will focus on certain websites and platforms where irregular and uncivilized language is prominently displayed, such as in trending lists and on the homepages of websites and apps.

It will also target the distortion of the sound, form, and meaning of language, the creation of "internet slang and vulgar phrases", and the misuse of "ambiguous expressions".

According to the release, local internet and education authorities are required to concentrate on protecting the rights and interests of special groups, such as minors.
