The electronic information age allows people to travel smarter.
SoSo Street View, an online platform in Anshun city of Guizhou province, was launched by Tencent on Thursday. It is the first published Internet map in Guizhou.
By scanning a QR code (Quick Response), tourists are able to get a 360 degree panorama of the destination, book hotels, receive directions and share with friends on the social platform.
The platform uses more than 400,000 HD photos taken in 43 scenic spots, historical and cultural blocks, national cultural relics units and patriotism education bases in Anshun city.
"Tourism is the most precious resource of Anshun, so we shall play a leading role in developing tourism of Guizhou," said Yang Xiangdong, deputy secretary of Anshun city, at a press conference of SoSo Street View.
Anshun will also offer promotions to boost tourism.
"Aiming at tourists from Beijing in autumn and winter, we are offering many promotions. In 2012, the percentage of tourists from Beijing increased by 20 percent,"?said Luo Xiaohong, deputy mayor of Anshun.
